Dear friends,
It is with some excitement that I have accepted the position of Chair for Indo- Canadian Psychiatric Association. Once again Canadian psychiatrists were well represented at the Indo Global Psychiatric Initiative in Cochin this year. We hope in the future our own trainees will be able to attend these meetings when we get sufficient sponsorship. I was able to meet several old friends of mine when I presented a paper in Indian Psychiatric Society's annual meeting and had the opportunity to exchange ideas about building bridges with our sister organisations.
ICPA's annual scientific dinner meeting to be held in conjunction with the annual Canadian Psychiatric Association's meeting in September 2012 is shaping up well indeed. I am glad to share the good news that we hope to get two world renowned psychiatrists to speak to us for the upcoming scientific meeting. In fact one of them will be delivering an exciting lecture as part of CPA's morning academic programme sponsored by ICPA. I would like to take this moment to thank Prof.Praful Chandarana whose dedicated work has lead to this accredited programme take place. Invitation and the details of these meetings will follow. The annual business meeting of ICPA will be held on Friday 28th September in the afternoon.
The Executive Committee wants to thank Dr.Vasavan Nair who has been kind enough to organise the meeting in Montreal. We are all looking forward to this exciting evening.
Dr.Dilkush Panjwani has been active in promoting ICPA in Ontario and hopes to get extra sponsorship that will help our organisation grow.
I welcome your ideas to promote the activities of our association and section of CPA. I want to thank Mano for his tireless work for the last five years. Congratulations to Dr. Natarajan for receiving the CMA award. My sincere thanks to Dr.Renuka Prasad for his unwavering support as the treasurer of ICPA. We appreciate his work very much.
